About this title

Synopsis:

FIT TO BE DEAD is a finalist for Left Coast Crime's LEFTY AWARD for best humorous mystery. Aggie Mundeen, single, pushing forty and terrified of becoming decrepit, moves to San Antonio, Texas. She has to get in shape before anybody discovers she's the columnist who offers advice on how to stay young which will appear in the local newspaper. She takes Aspects of Aging at University of the Holy Trinity and joins a fitness club brimming with killer machines, workout groupies and disgustingly-fit fillies. When a girl turns up dead, Aggie, so curious it makes her feet itch, is determined to flush out the killer. The SAPD detective is appalled by her investigative methods, which is unfortunate because she can imagine spending the rest of her life with this man. When the killer comes after Aggie, club members evacuate locker rooms in less-than-dignified attire, and the detective has to stall his investigation to try and save Aggie's derriere. Aggie has to really get creative ... while she tries to stay alive.
Whoever dreads aging, tries to stay fit or has loved the wrong man will appreciate Aggie Mundeen .

West's main characters' histories suggest they could fill a series. I hope so. I love this book!
_Rollo K. Newsom PhD, Professor Emeritus,Texas State University, and an editor of Lone Star Sleuths.

West has produced a beautifully written book, brimming with wry humor, and a cleverly woven mystery in this perfectly-paced novel. Highly recommended! I am very pleased to see there is a follow-up Aggie Mundeen novel, Dang Near Dead
_Diana Hockley, Australian mystery novelist and international reviewer for Net Galley, Kings River Life and Goodreads.
