About this title

Synopsis:

Fit to Print is a collaborative series of poems whose format on the page is modelled on that most quotidian of reading materials - the newspaper. The writing itself displays a concern with daily events, and news factual and quasi-factual, emphasizing their information overload. Structured on patterns of meaning that foreground linguistic materiality, these poems negotiate the newspaper format to enact a fusion of mass culture with an innovative writing practice.

About the Author:

Karen Mac Cormack is the author of eight previous books of poetry, including Quirks & Quillets, Marine Snow, and The Tongue Moves Talk. Her work has appeared in such anthologies as The Art of Practice: Forty-five Contemporary Poets, Out of Everywhere: Linguistically Innovative Poetry by Women in North America and the UK, and Moving: Three Decades of Innovative Writing by Women. Born in Zambia, she is based in Toronto.
