About the Author:

Ellen Goodman Ross is an Early Childhood educator. She received her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The Bank Street College in New York City, where she taught young children for many years. Ellen now lives in Cleveland Ohio. She lives with her three "perfect" children, one "perfect" husband, and her one "nearly perfect" dog. The author wrote this story for her children and her sister's children. The story was written when the children's "perfect" Nana died at the young age of sixty-three. The Five Cousins helped the entire family deal with their tremendous loss. The author's hope is that this story will help other young children and their families as well.
