Synopsis: Superior Guardian Angel Francesca is aghast when Sylvia, one of her angels, asks for . . . of all things . . . a vacation! On consideration, Franny takes Sylvia's protestations of stress to heart and agrees they will both take a short leave in an earlier, less-stressful time, 1875 Louisiana. In 2005, Alaynia Mirabeau is thrilled when she inherits Chenaie, a southern plantation, from her aunt. Disillusioned with both her professional and love lives, she leaves Boston to examine the plantation and possibly move there. In 1875, Shain St. Clair is having enough trouble already trying to save Chenaie from the Yankee carpetbaggers. Then a strange time machine lands practically in his lap and a gorgeous woman who insists she owns Chenaie complicates matters even more. Alaynia is obviously mentally off, but despite his reservations about her, southern gentlemen do not abandon ladies in distress. As they watch over her, Franny and Sylvia encounter Basil, a ghost who has transported Alaynia back to the past for his own purposes. As Alaynia and Shain deal with the sabotage at Chenaie and their growing love, Franny and Sylvia try to reason with Basil. Eventually, matters come to a head. Will all right itself both at Chenaie and in the angel world in the end?
Trana Mae Simmons lives in a historical town in East Texas.
"In WITCH ANGEL, Shain and Alaynia must find a way to set past wrongs right. With time travel, that?s a tricky thing to do. It?s a fine dance as they encounter forces beyond their control, and, of course, those evil Yankee carpetbaggers that are intent on taking over the South. But what remains tantamount to the mystery of who wants to bring Chenaie to its knees is the love story that involves Shain and Alaynia. They have their work cut out for them, and everything is beautifully handled by the talented Ms. Simmons. Secondary characters abound and even hint at a need for their own stories. Although I thought Alaynia?s quick acceptance of traveling to the past was a bit too easy, Ms. Simmons is able to capture the essence of the South, post-Civil War. It was a time of rebuilding, new growth, and inventions, and Alaynia is able to witness the disparities between modern day and 1875 for herself."
"For fans of both time travel and historical romances, and even those who like a particular paranormal angle in their stories, WITCH ANGEL comes highly recommended from this reader."

". . .a delightful read which grabs the reader from the first paragraph and just doesn't let go. The opening scene where Sylvia is demanding a vacation was so very vivid that this reviewer felt she was standing off in the corner watching the interactions between Sylvia and Francesca. This reviewer is very happy to say that the story only got better from there. All of the characters, even the ones that just make brief appearances, are so strongly written that they will stay with the reader long after they have finished the story. This reviewer truly hopes to see more books coming out following up on some of the secondary characters such as Cole, Jeannie and Tana. They added such a flavor to this tale and this reviewer would really like to read about their dreams coming true also. WITCH ANGEL is one book full of interesting twists and turns. There are some interesting battles between Alaynia, a modern woman who doesn?t mind getting her hands dirty on a work site, and Shain who is the classic Southern gentleman. If they didn't have both love and the help of Basil the ghost and the two angels who knows what would have happened. To make life even more interesting, there is the mystery of who is trying to sabotage Chenaie. Ms. Simmons has proven herself a first class storyteller with WITCH ANGEL. This is one wonderfully entertaining book that this reviewer highly recommends that readers rush out to purchase."

". . .a fun fantasy romance that lampoons the recent flood of angelic matchmakers. The story line contains five solid characters the displaced but mortal lovers, the crusty ghost, and the pair of not vacationing angels. Readers will take immense delight as the angels argue with the free will ghost to return the heroine to her times even while they debate between themselves how nicely Alaynia and Shain seem together."
