The second volume of prolific author Keyes autobiography, the completion of which was interrupted by her death in 1970. The first volume, 'Roses in December', was published in 1960. This volumes picks up her memoirs with her marriage in 1904 to Harry Keyes, and its theme is her unrelenting struggle and ambition to write, to establish a career for herself. Her life was a full, active life, traveling and writing for magazines, being a Senator's wife and reporter in Washington, and enjoying her home near the Connecticut River in Vermont. Her list of novels is extensive, Life Magazine once calling her the 'Queen of Fiction'. Fine in very good dust jacket. Jacket has spine end chips, a few other short tears. Store Description

Hi, Folks ... Mom said, 'I need to downsize'. Moving to assisted living, what she couldn't take included 8,000-plus books & records. A decade later, my upcountry barn is bursting. Books multiply as others recycle priorities. I now have 30,000 or more books (not yet all online) looking for good homes, and my learning curve has been a roller coaster. I celebrate word-crafters, thought-tumblers, laughter ... the arts of communication at every turn. I preserve, protect, and share. I am also Hedgehog Publishing, 'Words & Pictures by & for Folks with Prickly Backs, Soft Bellies, & Small Brains'.
