Description:

Copyright 1955. Very rare book by obscure author. SYNOPSIS: "Young, idealistic Dr. Michael Wayne, who believes he can advance in the medical world through honesty and hard work, settles with his bride, Julie, in a small town. Then comes trouble. He is joined by an unscrupulous, knife-happy surgeon, who will do anything for a fee. Michael refuses to accept his proposition and soon finds the corrupt hospital personnel in league against him. He also finds that some of the townspeople are corrupt - their slanderous tongues threaten to break up his marriage. Into this tempestuous setting comes Noel, Julie's sister, who determines to have Michael by fair means of foul, and under the spell of her impudent charms, the young doctor finds himself giving in to a power he can't control." Red paper over board with gold lettering on spine, 284 pages. Book is in like-new condition except for lightly worn corners and spine edges. Dustjacket has overall surface scuffing with chipping at edges. Bookseller Inventory #
