About this Item

Filipo Juvarra was one of Italy's most imaginative draughtsmen and, according to this book, an architect of supreme originality and accomplishment. He came to Rome from Messina in 1704 when "the last heirs of the great Baroque flowering of the seventeenth century were still active in the city." His drawings as shown in this book are simply magnificent and provide a window into that far-off time, and any lover of drawings and of Baroque splendor will find this book a real 'find.' The DJ has been beautifully crafted by a previous owner, and is protected by our Mylar covering. Bookseller Inventory # 002402
