(14 x 10 1/2 inches). 54 plates (14 in color), after Tsukioka Yoshitoshi and Kawanabe Kiosui, and others. Publisher's stitched pictorial wrappers (covers bit worn and soiled, partially unstitched) One of the earliest illustrated works on the art of Japanese Ikebana. Conder, who served as official archictect to the Imperial Japanese Government, published a brief paper on the subject in the Transactions of the Asiatic Society of Japan in 1889, prompting this fuller illustrated monograph.
