The transcontinental flight of Calbraith Perry Rodgers, b. 1879, d.1912, who was an American aviation pioneer, and the first to make such a flight. The flight lasted from September 17, 1911, to November 5, 1911, and Rodgers made dozens of stops along the way, both intentional and accidental. The feat made him a national celebrity, but, tragically, he was killed in a crash a few months later at an exhibition in California. Very scarce, important piece of aviation history.
