Unpaginated [6 p. foreword, 50 p. text. "To play is to pray, and to pray is the play, and both are to rejoice in the goodly fellowship of man and god. This is a book of games people pray, of games that can restore life. This is not only 'a new form of book," it is a new form of praying.through the words and phrases in headlines and ads and footnotes that surround us, and that reveal to us how man carries on the work that God started," according to the dust jacket copy. Marshall McLuhan called this "an x-ray of human thought and social situation." Daniel Berrigan in the (interesting and graphically attractive foreword) asks us to "celebrate the beautiful fall of the letters like manna." Ben Shahn calls Sister Corita a "joyous revolutionary." Sister Corita is a nun who taught small children and later call at Immaculate Heart College is Los Angeles, but she also is internationally renowned for here serigraphs and advertising designs for such companies as Westinghouse and Neiman-Marcus. Orange-red cloth hard cover, large octavo (10" x 7"), very, very good with slight bumps at extremities; dust jacket rubbed and chipped with some tears, not price-clipped.
