Description:

*Collectible* Flat-signed by Author on FFEP. Beautiful copy over fifty years old. The hardcover is in Fine Condition; whistle-clean and unmarked (except for author's signature), inside and out. In a near fine dust jacket that only suffers from very light edge wear on a few of the extremities (3 of the 8 corners), is unclipped with pristine flaps, and is price-intact ($6.00). With a foreword by Daniel Berrigan. Quotes from inside front flap -- ". a new form of book.an x-ray of human thought and social situations." -- Marshall McLuhan. "; ".each picture has an airy gravity. I am refreshed by the designs and left thinking about the deep meanings." -- Robert Lowell. ; ".a swinging example.of mod meditations filled with brilliant swatches of color and eye-catching graphics." -- Time Magazine. On back of dj -- "Sister Corita, described by Ben Shahn as a 'joyous revolutionary,' is described by herself as 'a nun who taught little children for many years and now teaches big children at Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles.' Also, she is internationally renowned for her serigraphs and her advertising designs for such companies as Westinghouse and Neiman-Marcus. 'Footnotes and Headlines' is her first book. A scarce and special 60s book that reminds me somewhat of McLuhan. Filled with full-color graphics of lettering and free-form text, and poems. Dated 1967 with no mention of printings. This could just be a small printing. Bookseller Inventory # 001117
