Morrow, 1941, First Edition, assumed first printing, no other printings stated. Book Condition: Good. The spine is straight with bumping on the ends. The front board shows a small spot, some soiling in the spine gutter and some rub wear. The back board shows some soiling in the spine gutter. The board corners are bumped. The board edges show light rubbing. The pages are creme colored and unmarked. There is an ex libris sticker on the ffep. The page edges show slight darkening. The book is tight. Dust jacket Condition: Poor. Not price clipped ($2.00). The front shows a 1.5 inch tear on the top edge and chipping. The back shows rubbing, two splits near the spine and chipping. The spine shows chipping on the ends. The front panel shows rubbing and short corner clips on the right side corners. The back panel shows rubbing and short corner clips on the left side corners. Basis for the 1944 William Clemens movie "Crime by Night" starring Jane Wyman, Jerome Cowan and Eleanor Parker. Bumped and rubbed with a bit of wear at the extremeties. "Victory Book Campaign, Washington, D.C." stamped on the front free end paper with a few dates written in pencil. Jacket rubbed with chips and tears, completely separated at the rear spine fold.
