Methodist Book Concern, OH. Johnston was assigned to Company H, 6th Kentucky Infantry Regiment. Captured at Chickamauga Johnston was sent to Richmond. Nevins says, An excellent early account of a tunnel escape from Libby. After Johnston s escape he participated in the Atlanta Campaign. Before his capture he saw action at Shiloh and Stone s River. Originally printed in 1864. There is an inscription on cover reading Purchased from Capt. I. N. Johnston, June 5th, 1896 at Sanford, Ky. S.F. Smith Good copy of the soft bound book.
