First edition. Pale lime green cloth lettered in gilt and decorated in brown with a scene of three Indians and a little girl walking through the woods. Patterned endpapers. 43 and 128 pp. Errata slip tipped in at the first blank. A tight, bright, fresh example, Scattered occasional foxing. Quite scarce. "Frances Slocum" concerns a rather famous American Revolutionary-era kidnapping of a little white girl by Delaware Indians in the Wyoming Valley of eastern Pennsylvania; she remanined among tyhe Indians for over sixty years and married one of their chiefs.
