About this title

Synopsis:

"Franciscan Solitude" explores the historical and theological roots of the eremitical dimension of the Franciscan tradition. It includes important contextual and critical studies of Francis's "Rules for Hermitages". This book makes a significant contribution to contemporary Franciscan studies by drawing together theory and practice in an area where, even if resources have been sorely lacking, there has been a growing interest and deepening desire to follow Christ after the example and teaching of Francis of Assisi.

About the Author:

Andre Cirino, OFM, is a contemporary Franciscan itinerant. In addition to his involvement in a variety of ministries, Andre is co-author of the book "Teens Encounter Christ" and edited a journal on the writings of Francis, "In the Womb of the Cave". He annually collaborates with the Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs in conducting "The Assisi Experience" in Italy.

Josef Raischl lives with his wife and sons in Munich where he is involved in social work. Josef is a linguist and accomplished musician. He completed graduate studies at Eischstatt (Germany), Canterbury (England) and at the Capuchin Franciscan Institute in Rome.
