Folio (15 7/8 x 12"). [2], 160pp. Original gilt-stamped olive cloth, with gold lettering to spine and front cover. Publisher's logo to front cover and title page. This splendidly and lavishly photo-illustrated monograph is an exhaustive survey of Austrian architect Friedrich Ohmann's projects and executed buildings, such as: - The Café Corso (1897-98), in Prague (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire). - The Hotel Central (1897-1902), in Prague. Built in collaboration with Bedrich Bendlmayer and Alois Drayak. - The somptuous interior decoration of the Theater-Variété (now Karlin Musical Theater), in Prague (1898). - Kostel Nanebevzeti Panny Marie, the Baroque Catholic church of Zlonice (1894-1896). - The Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe (Museum of Art and Crafts), in Magdeburg (1902). Most of the buildings featured in this work were built in neo-Baroque and neo-Classical style, with a few in Jugendstill (Art Nouveau). Some rubbing to corners and head and tail of spine. Ex-library copy, with stamps on title page, at lower margin of the first page, and at lower margin of page 101 (not affecting plates or lettering). Page 9/10 disbound, but crudely re-attached with a small non-abrasive tape. Text in German. Binding and interior in overall good to good+ condition. Seller Inventory # 40988
