Never out of print since its initial publication in 1958, this charming little book celebrates the joys of friendship in a collection of inspirational verse & enchanting drawings by the author/illustrator who created the children with no mouths. This was her First Book, & she would go on to write 94 more! This is a slightly later printing of that FIRST EDITION, with only the initial 1958 date, but list of other titles written later in front matter). Slim, unpaginated hardcover 16mo has light green cloth-covered boards decorated with a design in brown on front cover/brown lettering to spine. Condition is Near Fine: completely clean & bright, binding straight & strong, pages creamy white with a whisper of tanning, but unmarked. Two tiny pieces of tap residue to rear free end paper is only flaw. The price-lipped DJ is also Near Fine, with just a hint of rubbing; beautifully protected in new mylar cover to stay that way (removed for photos).
