8vo. 19 by 16.5. Unpaginated. with only eight pages having content out of 50 leaves, but three of the color illustrations are delightful. One is of a brightly colored dog descending through the air with a parachute, the second, of a dog laden with all kinds of sporting equipment, and the third is an RAF winged emblem, or an adaptation of such. Since some of the textual entries are in Czech, in addition to Jana's Czech name, we have inferred that she was probably a Czech emigre living in London at the time -- her address is given, plus there are some entries in English. We imagine that as an emigre, she might have had memories, good or bad, of paratroopers. The artwork is done in color pencil and is possibly by a young adult but manifestly by someone with considerable artistic aptitude and facility. The album is of red cloth, with a relief of a three masted ship on the cover. The interior is clean throughout. Seller Inventory # 003778

The shipping cost provided automatically by ABE assumes that the item is the size of an average hardcover book. Since our stock is comprised largely of material which is bigger and heavier, we will often need to request additional shipping charges as a result. We pride ourselves on always packing safely, with the actual materials and method of packing depending on the item(s), where it is going, and with whom we are shipping. We most frequently use the post office, but on some high value items, or upon request, we may use alternatively UPS or FedEx. With the postal service, to domestic destinations with lower value items and the automatically furnished ABE shipping quote, we will usually use Media Mail; on higher value items we are partial to Priority or Express Mail. We will always seek to comply with a customer's wishes if they are communicated to us. When we seek additional shipping charges, we pass along those charges at our cost -- we do not add for handling or materials generally.
