About this Item

A Very Good copy in maroon cloth, in a Fine dust jacket. There is a quite small soil spot at the lower foredge, and a short tear to the last page of notes at the rear (in the blank space at the bottom margin, with no effect on text and no paper loss). An otherwise tight clean copy.Nicely inscribed and signed by the author (as "John") for North Carolina historian William S. ("Bill") Powell, whose help is also acknowledged in the author's Preface.
