About this title

From Publishers Weekly:

Caradoc Evans, journalist and author (18781945), was a Welshman in the mold of Lloyd George, fiery, outspoken and controversial. He outraged people, especially his compatriots, who disliked the way he portrayed them, so much so that his only play, Taffy, was booed off the stage by "London Welshmen" in the mid-'20s. After a lengthy introduction, editor Harris provides a hefty sampling of Evans's sharp short stories, a taste of his autobiographical work, essays on Mary Webb, other writers, and the subject of writing itself as well as a selection of editorials from Evans's Fleet Street days. The full text of Taffy concludes the volume, the fourth in Poetry Society Wales's Miscellany series, which makes available the breadth of work of selected Welsh writers. November
