Bound in the publisher's brown cloth with the series and title on the front board and spine; black and gilt border and title decorations. Mild wear at the tips and spine. Affixed to each volume, on the front and rear board are small, gilt decorated black morocco leather strips, apparently to prevent the boards from rubbing together. Al three volumes uniformly bear the handsome book plate of their previous owner, R. G. Titherington, with armorial seal. Front hinge starting on vols. 2 &3.
