About this Item

Book. 2013. 275 x 210 mm, 154 pp. Signed and numbered by the author (40/50). Invisible bound, hard back, with black, yellow and light pink printed glossy boards. Features sections on the following artists associated with the GLOUP poetry movement/group: dom Sylvester Houedard (dsh); John Furnival; Kenelm Cox; Astrid Furnival; Charles Verey and Thomas A Clark. As the foreword contextualises: 'Bob Cobbing issued a folder of visual poetry in 1974 entitled GLOUP and WOUP that featured three artists living near Nailsworth in Gloucestershire: dom Syvester Houedard, John Furnival and Kenelm Cox. GLOUP stood for GLOUcestershire grouP and included artists/poets who had diverse styles and ideas but who nevertheless coalesced in terms of their admiration for each others work.' Each section is richly illustrated in b&w and colour, with an extensive set of examples of each artist's work, including 'Mind Trip Clapperboard Poem' (1968), from William Allen Word & Image.
