About this Item

16 mo. (18 cm.) 8p. Profusely illustrated with one black and white photo of decorative gourds and numerous drawings of decorative gourds offered for sale at the Sunkist Trading Post. There is one page devoted to gourd seeds; the balance is a catalogue of gourd items for sale which show what can be done with ornamental gourds. It includes two pages of text about gourds and gourd raising. Stapled booklet in white wrappers with a photo of Sunkist Trading Post and a map of its location on the front wrapper and drawings of ornamental gourds on the rear wrapper. Soiled, with edges rubbed and staples rusted, but mostly all there--all in all in very good condition given its fragility. The Sunkist Trading Post was operated by John Ciesla, who was billed on the front wrapper as the "World's Largest Gourd Grower". His shop was located at 1409 Holt Avenue, Pomona, California. John Ciesla also wrote DECORATING GOURDS FOR PLEASURE AND PROFIT (Pomona, CA, 1937, Sunkist Trading Post). Bookseller Inventory # 005235
