Löw was a Hungarian rabbi, the first to introduce the Hungarian language into the synagogue service. He was the foremost preacher of Hungary, and a leading authority both from a scientific point of view and in questions of practical theology. He was a leader in the struggle for the emancipation of the Hungarian Jews, which was attained in 1867.
