Original blue cloth covered boards with front cover blind-stamped and gilt stamped with mixed fonts over map of lakes (including canoe and paddle as part of the "D."). Spine is decorated with bright gilt lettering in seal and picture of canoe and paddles. All gilt is complete and bright as new. This FIRST EDITION has acrylic cover and is VERY GOOD++ with spine tips and corners very mildly bumped and lightly worn with binding and insides tight, bright, clean and unmarked. Black & white frontispiece engraving of Willard Glazier, by H.B. Hall & Sons from New York, with facsimile of Glazier's signature underneath. Frontispiece is in Near Fine condition still untouched under original tissue. Green and white floral patterned endpapers only part of book slightly sunned around edges. Previous owner's signature in ink with date of "November 27, 1892" on right of blank page inside fep and library rubber stamp on top left of same pages and again very faintly on top of left fep, otherwise book is Near Fine.
