About this Item

137 pgs. Exceptionally rare title SC book has oatmeal colored linen texture flexible cardstock covers with dark brown font on fc and spine, and is in VERY GOOD + Shape. Covers are starting to show some soiling, fold bottom fc edge, sharp corners and spine ends, minimal shelf wear or scuffs, liquid stain along spine and bleeding slightly onto both covers (apperars to have happened when book was tightly packed in a box with some other books spine up. Really only affects spine, but still quite readable). Starting to show some yellowing on eps, spotting on page edges. No other damage or marks inside or out. Tight, clean, and square with a slight musty odor. No DJ as issued. This rare volume was published by the EPWORTH LEAGUE in Chicago, a leading temperance movement based in Chicago before prohibition. The rfep is a pledge that was signed in ink by the original owner. Inside the rear cover is an area for the owner to get other people to sign as well. He has gotton one other person to sign, probably a relative with the same last name. This book as sanctioned by the general conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, as it contains the official position on the matter. Neat piece of Temperance Movement History! Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 001262
