Greene, Graham [W. R. Burnett, Albert Maltz] Original glossy double-weight vintage black & white publicity still photograph from the Paramount Studios adaptation of THIS GUN FOR HIRE, directed by Frank Tuttle and starring Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake in the first of their famous pairings. Roughly 8" x 10." Great scene still of Alan Ladd in his very first film role. He had to dye his blond hair in order to play a dark-haired killer known as Philip Raven who, in this image, is watching Laird Cregar (who plays a traitor to the United States) toying with a waitress in a diner. Reverse has official 1941 stamp. The film's excellent script was written by Albert Maltz and W. R. Burnett. It was the first and only time Ladd played a villain. In NEAR MINT condition.
