Blue hardcover cloth binding clean square and tight. Illustrated endpapers shows a pointer and a setter. Some erased pencil marks on ffep, else interior is clean and tight with a few smudges and light foxing. 314 pages includes an appendix describing dog hunting field trials. Preface in which the author tells the history of the dogs the story is about. Color frontispiece plus b/w illustrations throughout. Based on the true story of Gypsy Lad, an English Setter who did not actually compete in field trials. His littermate and sister, though, Miss Gyp II did compete in trials.
