The Garden of Eden was Hemingway's ninth novel, published 25 years after his death and the second of his works to be published posthumously. Begun in 1946, and worked on for 15 years, the manuscript grew to over 200,000 words and 48 chapters at the time of his death. This much abridged version was edited by the author's publishers and issued with 70,000 words and 30 chapters. No previous ownership marks. No indent on rear cover.
