Good +. First Thus. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. "This facsimile of the first edition of the Generall Historie of Virginia, New-England, and the Summer Isles (1624) was produced for the World Publishi ng Comapny, . by George Rainbird, Ltd. . It was printed by Offset Lithography by Amilcare Pizzi S.P.A., . and bound by Legatoria Editoriales Giovanni Olivotto S.P.A., . the laid paper was speciall y made by Cartiera Ventura S.P.A., .the coat of arms on the binding is that of King James I . printed in Italy" With an historical introduction by A.L. Rowse and bibliographical notes by Robert O. D ougan. Slight bowing of the vellum as is usual with this book, otherwise clean and in as issued condition with lovely coat of arms stamped in gold on front, gold spine title, two sets of ties on fore- edge, interior clean and tight. Grey cloth slipcase has small tear to front bottom hinge, very slight fading to spine and back panel, minor overall soiling. Paper label to front cover showing only min or wear to edges, spine label barely beginning to curl at upper right corner. Pamphlet with the historical intro and bibliographical notes laid in.
