About this Item

Pages crisp and clean except for two small smudges on the front endpapers and some rather rough margins where signatures were cut in haste, but there are no owners' marks, and the binding is square and tight, the full red cloth cover only gently faded at the spine and showing a bit of flaking to the gilt near the spine heel and spots of shelf rubbing at corners and spine ends, otherwise excellent. 354pp. Autobiographical and biographical writings about farmer, judge, soldier, and politician George Wallace Jones, who spent much of his early life at various pursuits in early territories of the United States and came at last to Dubuque, Iowa.
