Synopsis:

In 1787, the newly established United States was in trouble. The central government had too little power and too little money. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and fifty-three other delegates gathered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to find a way to solve these problems. After more than three months of work, the delegates, led by George Washington, had created the U.S. Constitution. It was finished on September 17, which is now celebrated as Constitution Day.

About the Author:

Candice Ransom is the author of 115 books for children and young adults. She has written in every genre, board books to biographies, fantasy to historical fiction, contemporary fiction to mystery series. Candice has an MFA from Vermont College in Writing for Children and Young Adults and an MA in Children's Literature from Hollins University. Currently, she is on the faculty of Hollins University's MA/MFA program in children's literature.
