This is a limited edition reprint of 450 copies printed on Van Gelder hand-made paper. The book contains the reprint of the 4 issues of 'The Germ' from January, February, March, and April 1850. The original contributors were among others, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Rossetti, Ellen Alleyn, John Orchard, Laura Savage, Thomas Woolner, William Bell Scott, Ford Madox Brown, and Calder Campbell. Bound in ivory boards with clean, patterned paper wraps. There is a one inch closed tear to the paper at the lower left corner of the front cover, with 3/4 of an inch of brown tape at the top of the spine, but not affecting the wording. There are xxx, 224 very clean, still crisp, and tightly bound pages, without any foxing. Followed by reprints of the 4 original title pages. Bookseller Inventory # 14597
