About the Author:

Matt Johanson teaches social studies and journalism at Castro Valley High School in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a freelance journalist, he contributes articles about sports, the outdoors, education and politics to newspapers including the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, and the San Jose Mercury News. Matt enjoys running, rock climbing and skiing. He lives in Castro Valley with his wife, Karen.

Wylie Wong is a journalist with 15 years' experience working for newspapers, magazines and Internet media companies. He is a former business and technology reporter for, where he won a national award for investigative reporting by the Society of Professional Journalists. Wylie, now a freelance writer, is a San Francisco native who lives in Phoenix with his wife, Miiko.
