About the Author:

Dr. Sanjeev Mahajan represents young generation of sociologists in India. Born in 1975, he was educated in Meerut (PGDBM, PGDHRM, M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology, LL.B.). He has been closely associated with Apex Institute of Management Studies and Research, Meerut, College of Information Technology, Greater Noida, Nice Management College, Meerut and Research Foundation, New Delhi. His areas of interest are Industrial Sociology, Sociology of Mass Communication, Sociology of Ageing, Empowerment of Women etc. He is author of many text-books in Sociology for graduate and post graduate students of Hindi speaking states in India. He has participated in 9th International Interdisciplinary Congress on Women (Women's World, 2005) held at Seoul (Korea). Currently he is directing a major research project on 'Education, Employment and Empowerment of Women' sponsored by University Grants Commission. Presently he is teaching Sociology to graduate and post graduate students at N. A. S. Collage, Meerut besides supervising doctoral research.
