Limited and Signed" leaf tipped-in before half-title page and indeed SIGNED BY ARCHIBALD RUTLEDGE. 159 pages plus b/w plates. Hardcover: H 24.25cm x L 16.5cm. Lacks dust jacket other than edge-worn rear flap which is now laid-in at book's rear endpapers. Green cloth with gilt stamping still fairly bright, mild discolored spotting to front board, strong discoloration lengthwise along fore-edge area of rear board with light mottling at bottom, light scuffing at spine ends with heel bumped. Deckle fore-edge. Edges and endpapers toned; non-authorial 1947 Christmas gift inscription upon front free endpaper. A good+ copy. Dust jacket rubbed and soiled with chipping, tears, and creasing at panel edges; shallow chipping at spine head with 5.5cm loss at bottom and associated tear ascending further along joint with front panel; browned impression from removed tape strip at top of front panel; tearing and wear along front flap fold with lesser occurrence to rear flap fold; front flap's bottom corner is price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Green cloth with some mild spotting, front board's and spine's gilt and black stamping remains bright. Top edge toned with foxing spots; deckle fore-edge. Tow-line ink ownership inscription on front free endpaper. Interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. A very good- copy in only a fair dust jacket with Archibald Rutledge's ink signature on the half-title page.
