This is a handsome, antique copy of "The Golden Age" by Kenneth Grahame with wonderful illustrations throughout by MAXFIELD PARRISH. 1900; John Lane: The Bodley Head; London. The book features an illustrated title page, 18 full-page plates, and vignettes at the end of the chapters. Gilt top page edges. There is a 2-page catalog at the back of the book. Condition: Clean covers and spine with no stains; sharp corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are in great condition - clean with only some very light foxing to the title page and end papers, and occasionally to the illustrated plates. Presentation copy with a sheet of paper affixed to the front end paper: "Frances Parkinson Wheeler - 1900 - First Brooks Reading Prize." Overall the book is in very good condition.
