About this Item

20 p. (text) + 128 full-page plates numbered 53-180, including photographs by Will Engel, Andreas Feininger, Fritz Henle, Herbert List, Hedda Walther and others; with 8 additional photographs of the Rolleiflex factory in the text. Introduction, "The world-wide success of the 'Rolleiflex'" by Walther Heering; alphabetical list of pictorial contributors and photographic data; and six-page list of prize winners in the European 1935 Rolleiflex - Rollicord Competition. Exhibitors were drawn from Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Rumania, Bulgaria, Greece, Czechoslovakia, France, England, Switzerland, Poland, Holland, Sweden, Portugal, and Spain, though the majority of the photographs were submitted by Rolleiflex users in Germany and Austria. Covers soiled; binding poor, with spine extremities frayed and backstrip torn along rear margin and coming loose, but internally fine and tight. The book was published in English, French and German editions, thus accounting for the absence of text pages 21-52 (intentionally left out by the publisher for this, the English language edition).
