Book Description The MacMillan Company, New York, 1954. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Edgard Cirlin (illustrator). First Printing. The cover has green cloth with yellow letters. 247 pages. The story's setting is South Africa. The spine strip has a lightly frayed, top corner, and the bottom edge is a little faded. The boards' bottom, front corners have sheen loss. The front board has a linear 3/8 in. faded spot. The text block ends have darkened. The binder's glue has darkened the back endpaper's fold and the cloth on the back joint. DJ: The front flap's corners are clipped, but the publisher's price remains. Chips and closed tears are along the top and bottom edges. A water stain is along half of the bottom end, mostly showing on the reverse side. The back panel has shelf wear soiling. The author's portrait has white residue on part of the suit and a 3/4 in. x 1/8 in. scrape on the cheek and the shirt color. Scans e-mailed upon request. Bookseller Inventory # 013584
