About the Author:

Bharati Bhattacharya is a retired Associate Professor, Department of Botany, Gargi College, University of Delhi with a teaching & research experience of about 39 years. She obtained her MSc degree in 1964 and PhD degree in 1969 from the University of Delhi.

Her work emphasizes the importance of studying the taxonomy of flowering plants and she has authored five books on the subject. She has travelled throughout the world for her work and keen interest in environmental studies.
