About this Item

This is a truly beautiful book in as new, unread condition, with light blue cloth boards and an equally nice dust jacket, which is now in a Brodart protective plastic sleeve. The book is inscribed by the author on the front free end paper as follows, "Thanks, Bill for all you've done for Macgregor. Geo". We don't know who the "Bill" in the inscription is, but apparently the author thought highly of him and of his contributions to the industry. We ship in cardboard boxes, and guarantee satisfaction. About this title

Offering a comprehensive overview of all aspects of golf in the United States, a visual delight for players and fans includes more than four hundred illustrations, rare historic photographs, cartoons, magazine covers, and portraits of famous golfers.

Like baseball, golf is a game that loves to look back on itself, and this oversized volume, originally published in the late 1980s, does the retrospection splendidly. Touching on all aspects of the game--its history, its stars, its appeal, its courses, its equipment, and even some basic instruction--it both introduces and commemorates a sport with deep roots
