About this title

GONE WITH THE WIND-Gone with The Wind Facsimile Dust Jacket for the First Edition Book (NO BOOK IS INCLUDED ONLY THE FACSIMILE DUST JACKET NO BOOK IS INCLUDED!) -Facsimile dust jacket for the first edition of GONE WITH THE WIND, published in 1936. Professionally rendered facsimile dust jacket, not price-clipped, to fit the first edition of this book. Jacket is printed on archival paper, pigment inks and enclosed in Mylar. Trimmed and pre-folded to fit your book. This jacket could also be used for later editions of the book printed by Macmillan Company, size will vary. Let me know the HEIGHT of your book if you order this jacket. This first printing jacket is 8-3/4 inches tall, some of the early printings are 8-5/8 inches tall and some are the same size as the first printing. Produced one at a time and are labor intensive to get the colors to match to the original, trim and fit and inspect the final product. The rear flap of the dust jacket, is marked "Facsimile Dust Jacket" and with my monogram "JAM". On the reverse of the jacket there is a fixed label, signed, indicating that it is a facsimile dust jacket. Miller's jacket work is now being collected own its merit, as people are considering these older dust jackets as works of art, especially when associated older pre-1965 classic works such as this one is. Thank you, John Anthony Miller, Artist and Bookman. Here is a recent comment: "John's unique artistry was evident as soon as I saw The Great Gatsby dust jacket. Having seen scores of facsimile jackets, John's work is in a completely different league. The rich tonal quality of the colors is breathtaking and the weight of the paper is carefully considered. He satisfied the needs of the most demanding client, even during a personally trying time. I look forward to doing continued business with him in the future and give him my highest recommendation." Ryan Dohm, Profiles in History

About the Author:

Margaret Mitchell was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of an attorney who was president of the Atlanta Historical Society. She married in 1925, and spent the following ten years putting down on paper the stories she had heard about the Civil War. The result was Gone With The Wind, first published in 1936. It won the Pulitzer price, sold over ten million copies, was translated into eighteen languages and was later made into one of the best-loved films of all time starring Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. This book, a record bestseller, was her only published work. She died in 1949.
