Sarah Tyson Rorer was an American pioneer in the area of domestic science. She was educated and taught at the New Century School of Cookery in Philadelphia and founded her own Philadelphia School of Cookery in 1884. Rorer gave many cooking exhibitions, including at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair and the Pennsylvania Chautauqua, where she was president of its auxiliary board. Rorer was editor and part owner of "Table Talk" from 1886 to 1892, an editor for "Household News" from 1893 to 1897, and on the staff of the "Ladies Home Journal until 1911 when she went over to "Goodhousekeeping." Signed by Rorer on the front endpaper: "Sarah Tyson Rorer, September, 1902." Very Good (covers bright, contents clean & tight; some faint discoloration covers).
