Excellent primary resource in good clean condition. There is a 1" paper loss to crown of spine and some minor foxing to reverse side of first portrait, but otherwise magazine is clean and tightly bound. One small edgetear at top front repaired with clear, nonbrowning archival tape. Articles include a lengthy profile of Captain George Hamilton Perkins, an officer in the U.S. Navy during the Civil War, plus pieces on the Norfolk and Bristol Turnpike, Dungeon Rock, Acadiens, and a wonderful, illustrated article about the Boston YMCA. At back of book is a reprint of an oration by Daniel Webster given July 4, 1800. Bookseller Inventory #
