About this Item

Entire issue, Volume 35, No. 215, April, 1955, in original colorful C. E. Monroe, Jr., wraps, light to moderate general wear and rubbing, minor cosmetic touch-ups apparently noted at title cover, mailing label at bottom fore corner of front wrap, spine rolled a slight bit, and also nicked at both ends, and split or cracking about 3 inches at ends, with minor loss as noted in picture. Deep-sea fishing with the American author and adventurer off Havana, Cuba, illustrated with 6 color photographs by Leavens. From the opening paragraph, "People ask you why you live in Cuba and you say it is because you like it. It is too complicated to explain about the early morning in the hills above Havana where every morning is cool and fresh on the hottest day in summer." Issue also includes the full- length, non-fiction feature, Bird Man, by Leo Valentin, about his experiences jumping out of planes and flying with attached, self-fashioned wings, Biggest Fish In The World, by George X. Sand, about the July, 1954, Bimini Marlin Tournament during which Captain Johnny Cass and crew of the ship Alberta landed a world-record whale shark, fly-fishing for shad in the cold West Coast rivers, by Ted Trueblood, the case of French criminal Henri Desire Landru, by Alan Hynd, professional baseball players who play multiple positions, by Stanley Frank, Privateer Captain Sam Reid, by James Poling, pistol holsters, by Lucian Cary, and hypnotists, by William Lindsay Gresham. Housed in archival bag with stiff backing. Bookseller Inventory # 018026
