Book Description Covici-Friede, New York, 1933. Hardcover. First edition. Illustrated by Herman Rosse. Page 91 loose and laid in, owner's name on front fly, modest edgewear, about very good lacking the dustwrapper. A play about carnival life, it was the basis for a 1934 Wesley Ruggles film *Shoot the Works*, with Ann Sheridan in a bit part, and then remade in 1939 as *Some Like it Hot*, an early Bob Hope vehicle memorable for showcasing drummer Gene Krupa (and not to be confused with the later Billy Wilder film).
