A beauty. 28 engraved plates, including a frontispiece plate of Yosemite Valley and a plate of eminent artists and explorers. Note: 3 double-page colored maps are missing, hence the bargain pricing. Appropriate poems on the West by Longfellow and on Alaska by Bret Harte are inserted; several of the striking plates are by Thomas Moran.
