He wants his father to love and be proud of him, so he practices the dragon art wishing to become fierce. As the story opens a fairy has stumbled into his forest. He knows he should eat her but while he is considering how to, she asks him to take her home, saying her father will give him riches. Considering these facts, GreeHee decides to take her home where he intends to prove himself by devouring her entire family. So GreeHee begins an amazing, perilous, unimaginable journey of self-discovery directed by the unseen hand of fate, and the unlikely companionship of a fairy. GreeHee The Journey of Five consists of 34 short chapters, each a cliff-hanger. It is written for young adults ages 10 and up. Members from both The Church of Religious Science and Unity have called it young adult metaphysical fiction and are using it in youth, as well as, adult reading programs. Additionally middle school teachers have read it to their classes because of the excellent life lessons GreeHee and the other characters learn as they race to uncover the meaning of the prophecy and face the evil that threatens Tamoor. A portion of each book donated to the SPCA. The paperback version will be available for pre-order on Amazon September 1st. Board game, trading cards, audio book and Book Two will be available in 2008

From the Inside Flap:

AWARD WINNER NCPA BEST JUVENILE FICTION COVR VISIONARY FICTION FINALIST GreeHee has never flown beyond his mountain. He’s never seen a fairy or a wizard before, and never known a giant. All GreeHee knows is a lonely life living with his cruel father who calls him a sniveling runt and who often abandons him for months at a time. He never knew his mother and has never had a friend. He spends his days practicing the dragon-art, hoping someday to make his father proud. But all that is about to change when a little fairy stumbles into his world activating an ancient prophecy and he begins a journey unlike anything he could have imagined. Now he will not only make friends and experience astonishing magic at every turn, but a glorious destiny awaits him...if GreeHee can survive the traps and withstand the evil.“I wrote this book to give you a place to escape from the pressures of daily life. In Tamoor you can reawaken wonder, refresh your energy and realize that a divine hand weaves all your imperfections into a magnificent tapestry. We each need to learn the lesson that GreeHee learns, to love yourself and in so doing - to follow your heart.” — Michele Avanti AWARD WINNER GreeHee The Journey of Five - Tales of Tamoor Book One COVR Visionary Fiction Finalist & NCPA Best Juvenile Fiction “Ample mystic lore and wisdom teachings are gently and artfully woven into a rousing good tale. The kids will have to share this one with the grownups.” — Light of Consciousness _____________________________ “...From the land of giants, fairies, and wizards, Michele Avanti’s book, ...had me on the edge of my seat. ...GreeHee is a book of mystery, adventure and prophecy that delights the mind while feeding the soul. I love this book! With the artful way Avanti writes, you are along for the ride with every turn of the page.” — Mystic Pop Magazine _____________________________ “...Like Harry Potter, Michele’s fantasy will appeal to both children and adults. It’s only a matter of time when the U.S. version of Ms. Rowling takes hold in America.” — Francine Silverman, Author Talk Radio for Authors _____________________________ “...The marvelous fantasy world the author created, the wonderful creatures and characters inhabiting that world, and their epic physical and spiritual journey are entrancing. This is a fine work of fiction that will be hard to equal as the series continues.” — Comments from an NCPA Judge _____________________________ “...I honestly did not think that I would become so thoroughly engrossed in a so-called Children’s Book. ... I believe that it’s a story for any age group ...I highly recommend this fascinating and well-written story.” Linda Cunningham, _____________________________ “...the GreeHee canvas captivates and enchants. In the first chapter... You join their quest--one seeks to return home, the other to prove a dragon’s savage prowess. Then you’re off and into Michele Avanti’s masterful composition--gasping at the mystery, in awe of the fantasy, intrigued with the adventure, rolling in laughter, and enlightened by the wisdom.” — Eda Hatfield Retired Art Teacher, Reno, NV _____________________________ “...I’ve worked with elementary/middle school children and have tried to choose books ...that would enhance their self-esteem and encourage them to make good choices. GreeHee is an excellent book....I highly recommend it to any age group-even us big kids.” — Carron Baxter, Retired Middle School Teacher, Gardnerville, NV _____________________________ Wow! An unexpected ‘jewel’ on my bookshelf! “...From the moment I started reading, I craved more! I can see why so many children as well as adults enjoy this book! GreeHee The Journey of Five, by Michele Avanti, took me to a whole different world. Every time I picked it up I forgot about the laundry, the bills, the to-do list... and just lost myself in the story.....I highly recommend this for readers of all ages!!” — 1smileycat, Iowa _____________________________ A ripping good story “GreeHee is a gentle and fascinating flight into a unique imaginary world, and a lovely, uplifting, tale of self-discovery and the empowering, healing value of love, honesty, and friendship. The narrative is brisk and uncluttered driven almost exclusively by concise, well realized dialogue as the characters interact, questioning events, and revealing their ideas, hopes and fears. The overall narrative structure is similar to a video game, moving from place to place, dilemma to dilemma, with a solution and a message at each turn. Thus the tale never flags or loses focus and pulls you in, and along, with it. Its a genuine page turner, you will have a hard time putting it down as it scurries along....The message of love, faith in self, trust in others, honesty, community and willingness to listen and accept differences even as our cultural training tells us to be suspicious is one that needs to be told. This book tells it very well and makes for joyful, enlightening, heartwarming, reading... Highly recommended for ...all ages.” — Orsetto DiOrsetto, Italy
