James Russell Miller (March 20, 1840 ¿ July 2, 1912) was a popular Christian author, Editorial Superintendent of the Presbyterian Board of Publication, and pastor of several churches in Pennsylvania and Illinois. J.R. Miller D.D.'s lasting fame is through his books. Many are still in publication. - "In Green Pastures", was a renaming of a previous title called 'Bits of Pasture', which was published in 1890. - 'In Green Pastures', was one of Miller's best selling works. - Faris reports that Miller sold over two million copies of his books during his lifetime.The original dustjacket accompanies this book. Priced at 3/6 net to the spine. States 'Leather Edition'. Few small closed edge tears and creasing to the rearside. Now housed in a removable plastic archival sleeve. - Wine coloured leather boards with gold/gilt lettering and design to the spine. In a very nice condition. Gold edge on top of pages. Apart from minimal browning to the endpages front and rear, the 243 pages are clean and tightly bound throughout.
