About this title

Synopsis:

Convinced that Joey Pike--the son of a wealthy mine owner and a bullying womanizer--is not the man who raped and murdered two women in her town of Green Valley, Colorado, nineteen-year-old Christie Hinkle is willing to risk her life to prove it

From School Library Journal:

YA-- Green Valley is a quiet, respectful Colorado town in the 1880s--until someone begins to rape and murder the young women who live there. Christie, a veterinary assistant, does not plan on becoming the next victim even though she eventually sets a trap for the killer. She is an especially well-drawn character in this easy-to-read mystery. Although the climax and villain are predictable for sophisticated readers, the short chapters, simple plot, and suspenseful attack scenes make it an appropriate choice for reluctant readers.
